Here at Ricky's NYC, we like being the center of attention in terms of the latest trends and hottest styles. In terms of what's hot this fall, purple seems to be the "it" color. So we asked our resident makeup extraordinaire Carmen Kenig, our Director of Merchandising and one of the key directors in our Mattese Elite makeup line, to give us some tips on how to pull off the season's hottest color. Take it away, Carmen!

When we look back on the makeup trends that ruled the Fall 2010 runways, purple took center stage. Here are a few of my favorites to make sure you're on trend with makeup, representing obsession-worthy color to eyes, lips, nails and hair. Try any of these tools for casting a purple gaze.

Eyes: Whether you go with matte lavender effect or a dramatic pigmented plum, try MATTESE ELITE "Violet Come" matte eye shadow, $12 with its plum to almost lavender hues to make the perfect purple smokey eye.
